The Ottery Larder were delighted to receive a donation from Veg in a Box and Dart Fresh Farms this week.
The Larder has been open for nearly two months and has seen over 120 different families and nearly 300 appointments in total. Several tonnes of food have been saved from the dustbin!
There are now regular donations from Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Tesco all offering a wide range of food, but the two recent donations of sacks of fruit and vegetables proved extremely popular.
Dean Stewart from the Larder said: “We are so grateful to Julie at Veg in a Box and George at Darts Fresh. They both contacted us and offered excellent, fresh food and our shoppers really appreciated it. The Larder is open to anyone and all are welcome to help them keep food from being thrown away and making sure good quality food is available to everyone regardless of their circumstances.”
