Residents also have until tomorrow to vote for their favourite guy after entries were display in shops during the week.

The winning entry will be announced at the ceremony and will take pride of place on the bonfire next Saturday, November 5, on Tar Barrels night.

Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress to The Institute tomorrOw, with prizes for the best costumes.

During the afternoon, a trophy will be presented to the winner of the creative baker cake contest before the grand draw.

In the evening, the carnival will set off from Finnimore Industrial Estate at 7.30pm and proceed through the town to the Co-op in Yonder Street.

The procession will feature floats from East Devon, Ilminster and South Brent and walking entries from Ottery residents and groups. The evening will culminate with a grand fireworks display at the Land of Canaan from 9.15pm.
