The town lights up in time for Christmas
The festive lights were once again switched on in Ottery, lighting up the town as Christmas draws near. Mayor Glyn Dobson and Viv Abbott from the Chamber of Commerce were joined by this year’s carnival royalty at the former convent to press the plunger. The choir paraded from the church to the convent and sang carols to the crowd who were also treated to other musical delights provided by local school band, Inanimate. After the switching on ceremony many shops remained open to late night shoppers.
