Spirited scouts had a splendid time celebrating their achievements with an annual awards ceremony.
Proud families and friends of the 1st Ottery St Mary Scout Group filled the group’s recently-refurbished centre for the big event on Friday (July 1).
There was a presentation of photograph and video highlights of the year’s activities, which included the summer 2015 mountain biking, Ten Tors, egg-catapult building, pioneering, river rope-bridge building, Diwali celebrations and much more.
There were chief scout bronze awards for Tom Rosewarne and Emma Nancekevill, silver accolades for Rowen Nickels, James Nancekevill and Alexander Clemo-Crosby and gold awards for Rory Baker and Rhys Johnson. The group also received a certificate of fundraising excellence from the Exeter and East Devon Mind Charity for raising £323.69 at the St George’s Day Parade.
