Scouts and Explorers in Ottery combated back to school blues with an action packed activity weekend.
Some 40 youngsters ventured to the Wye Valley for a canoeing session before camping overnight.
Explorer leader John Green said: “I am not sure that we would have won any Olympic medals for our performance on the water – we were probably more reminiscent of a bunch or marauding Vikings, but everyone had a great time.”
The next day the scouts and leaders travelled to Air Hop in Bristol to go trampolining.
“These short camps are always great fun, but pretty exhausting.” said scout leader Sam Herbert. “The young people have a great time and its fantastic to be able to introduce them to sports and activities that they may not otherwise have the chance to try out. That’s what Scouting is all about.”
