More than £3,000 for Ottery organisations has been pledged by the town council in its budget for next year.

Local groups requested more than £7,500 to be set aside to fund projects in Ottery St Mary but councillors granted less than half that amount.

At Monday’s meeting of Ottery Town Council’s ‘Finance and General Purposes Committee’ it was decided 14 of the 18 organisations who applied would receive donations ranging from £50 to £500.
