A proms concert takes place in Ottery St Mary on Saturday, October 12, featuring the town’s silver band and other performers.
The music will range from traditional tunes, such as the Floral Dance, to more modern pieces, and there will be a rousing finale with favourites including Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.
Joining the Ottery St Mary Silver Band will be the parish church choir, who will be performing their own selection of songs, and vocalist Val Howels.
She will be accompanied by pianist Dorothy Worthington, and she will also reappear at the end of the concert, in full Britannia costume, for the finale.
The event will take place at Ottery St Mary Parish Church, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £8 or £4 for under 16s, available from Seasons Tea Rooms, the Ottery branch of Gilbert Stephens, or by calling 07732 791492. There may be tickets available on the door.
