Plans for vacant St Saviours get green light

An Ottery building once earmarked as a suitable new library premises is now set to become a funeral home.

Plans submitted on behalf of AG Down Funeral Directors for a change of use for St Saviours, Exeter Road, have been approved by East Devon District Council. Ottery Town Council wanted to purchase the vacant office building near the youth centre with the intention of turning it into a new library and community hub, but negotiations ceased in June 2015.

Councillors subsequently backed the funeral home.
