Talented skaters compete for selection
Skaters will be rolling into Ottery next week as the town has been chosen to host the East Devon team street sports trials.
Talented youngsters will take to the skate park ramps, behind the Colin Tooze Leisure Centre, on Friday, June 17, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, where teams will be selected to participate in the Devon Youth Games trials.
Community development officer Mark Gerry will be on hand to pick top skaters and riders.
All three teams of four will go forward to represent East Devon at the Devon Rotary Youth Games in Okehampton on Sunday, July 3.

The skate park was opened after a long community campaign. Friends and members are now working on a scheme to make young people ambassadors of the sport.
This gives them the opportunity to develop leadership skills and help train others at the site.
