The annual event was cancelled due to weather last week, but children and adults made a big effort on Tuesday dressing up as much loved book characters.

Mary Poppins, Little Red Riding Hood and Toad from Wind in the Willows were all in attendance as well as characters from Alice in Wonderland and Roald Dahl’s The Witches.

The school handed out prizes to students from each group, as well as selecting the top three amazing costumes.

World Book Day is held every year with the aim to encourage children to explore the pleasures of reading and each student is given a token so they can select from one of ten free books.
