MORE milk thefts sparked a spate of odd Ottery pilfering the weekend before last.

Thirsty thieved took three bottles of milk from a St Beaulieu Close doorstep at around 3.50am on Saturday, June 20.

Hungry scroungers also plundered strawberries from the town's Higher Ridgeway allotments between 6.30pm on June 20 and 2.45pm on Monday, June 22.

A North Street resident was left hopping mad on Sunday, June 22, when a ceramic garden frog was pilfered from their property.

Of the milk thefts PC Phil Thomas said: "This cannot keep continuing, it may seem trivial but it causes a massive inconvenience to elderly residents. I've asked night patrols to pay particular attention to the area. And anyone seen around Slade Close or Yonder Street in the early hours can expect to be challenged.
