The event was held at Ottery Cricket Club last Sunday following a harvest service at the Parish Church.
Church Administrator Katie Drew said; “Competitors of all ages were treated to a complementary hog roast lunch before the fiercely competitive games began. Events included welly ten-pin bowling and welly throwing. There was also a fashion parade of the most decorated welly.”
“The event was used to highlight the plight of farmers in Pakistan and the needs of homeless people in Exeter under the theme of ‘give Suffering the boot.
“The collection taken for Pakistan is still being counted but the church expects to be able to send around 500 to farmers in need.
“Donations of food and toiletries were delivered to St Petrocks in Exeter this week.
