Police had to close the main route in and out of Ottery on Saturday morning after a Jaguar coupe overturned on the Exeter Road.

Two fire crews, police and an ambulance were called to the scene around 11.20am on the B3174, but emergency services confirmed nobody was hurt in the crash.

A spokesman for the fire service said all persons were free of the overturned car when the crews from Ottery and Middlemoor arrived on scene, so they made the vehicle safe and absorbed a petrol spillage on the road.

Police said a hedge was damaged by the blue Jaguar vehicle, and the road was closed for around an hour.
