Ottery’s tourist information centre manager, who has worked ‘tirelessly’ for the town for more than a decade, has received a top award.
Phyllis Baxter was named Citizen of the Year last month, but was unable to attend the event to collect the accolade as she was on holiday.
Mayor Glyn Dobson presented her with the shield this week.
At the annual assembly meeting in April, councillors and residents praised Phyllis’s dedication to Ottery.
Councillor Dobson told the Herald: “She is a great ambassador for the town. She had the most votes and it is well deserved.”
