Sidbury Fair week is well and truly under way as crowds young and old came together to enjoy the village’s 1,000-year-old tradition.
Organisers say they have seen increases in participants at the fun run and walk, a packed out quiz night and a surge in new entries across the week.
On Tuesday, youngsters were quick off the mark to collect as many coins as they could in the annual hot pennies.
The community has also held silent reflections throughout the week in memory of Sir John Cave, president of the fair committee, who died earlier this year.
Nancy Craven, chair of the fair committee, said: “It is a special event. We have had a couple of moments of silent reflection at the fun run and fair day to remember all the things John Cave contributed to the village.”
The final events include a harvest festival, a skittle night before finishing on Sunday with an equestrian ride.
