An eagle-eyed beach goer spotted what appears to be an ‘eerie’ looking face staring out from Sidmouth’s east cliff.

Louise Pottinger snapped these shots on Friday while on the seafront with her family.

The 47-year-old said: “I noticed the face on Friday evening whilst on the seafront. I was with some friends and none of us could quite believe it. I’ve lived in the town all my life and its crazy how bad the cliffs are getting.”

Last week East Devon District Council issued warning to visitors to stay safe when using the beach, after a recent large cliff fall.

Another local, Martin Trainer, said: “The face looks unhappy. It’s almost like the cliff is warning of us of things to come if something isn’t done soon about the frequent cliff falls.”
