A FUN day organised by the Ottery St Mary Carnival Committee drew in the crowds on Sunday (25) and raised more than £3,500 for the group.
Activities including a duck race, clay pigeon shooting and a classic car show took place at the Land of Canaan and organiser Tony Dyer said the money collected was over double the amount raised last year.
“I’m really pleased,” he said. “The money will go towards the insurance for the tar barrels which we’re expecting to be more expensive this year.”
“More people came this time plus the weather was on our side too. We’d like to thank everyone who supported us and made it such a great day.”
