Big waves don’t deter walkers along Sidmouth seafront

Heavy rain and huge waves did not stop these hardy pedestrians from enjoying a seafront stroll on Saturday.

Photographer Eve Mathews captured the moment walkers braved the elements and got a soaking – while some watched the dramatic scenes from the relative safety of their cars.

Eve said: “I was interested to see yesterday’s stormy weather (Monday), but at Sidmouth it was considerably rougher on Saturday, as the wind was directly onto the seafront then. “In spite of the rain and spray creating poor visibility, many people turned up to get soaked or to watch from the relative safety of their cars!”
