THOUSANDS of people lined the streets as Sidmouth came to a standstill to welcome the Tour of Britain today (Friday).
The planet’s top riders, including yellow jersey holder Sir Bradely Wiggins, set off from the seafront in front of jubilant crowds.
The town has marked the arrival of the tour with a series of special events this week including a fun day and procession on Sunday and a Sid Valley Cycling Club criterium race last night. Mungo Jerry also performed in the town.
