The organiser of Sidmouth’s Pink Day said the event was great success and has raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research.
As part of Breast cancer Awareness Month, businesses, schools and other groups went pink last Tuesday, and Sharon Lupu said their efforts have seen a record fundraising total.
“I’ve already counted over �1,400 and there are a lot of collection tins to be handed back in,” she said.
Some business wanted to keep hold if the tins after Pink Day to carry on collecting, so Sharon expects the final total to be much higher.
She said she was grateful for Sidmouth’s support in the event, and says a final total of the money going to Cancer Research will be announced at the end of the month.
