FIVE fire appliances were called to deal with a blaze at a plantation site in Colaton Raleigh.
FIVE fire appliances were called to deal with a blaze at a plantation site in Colaton Raleigh.
An incident occurred at Kettles Plantation, Stowford, at around 3.05pm on Thursday, May 6.
Two fire crews and an off-road vehicle from Exmouth, one appliance from Topsham and one from Budleigh Salterton, attended.
The crews, on arrival, confirmed a deep-seater fire, involving the roots of a plantation, measuring approximately 10 metres by 20 metres.

They attacked the fire using bladed hand tools, small tools and Makita cutting and damming equipment. Firefighters were dealing with the incident for more than two hours.
