Property and vehicles targeted by vandals over the Christmas period
Police are appealing for information after several homes in Ottery St Mary were targeted by egg-throwing vandals.
Officers are conducting enquiries in an attempt to catch the culprits behind a spate of egg-related attacks over the Christmas period and have warned residents the residue can cause severe damage to property and vehicles.
PCSO Maria Clapp of Ottery’s neighbourhood police team said: “One householder reported around 20 raw eggs were thrown at their property.
“Luckily for them, they heard the thud on the window and removed it swiftly so it did not cause any damage. If left to dry, raw egg matter can cause severe damage to properties and vehicles.
“I am checking with the local stores to see if they sell these eggs and will view the CCTV for any evidence.”
She asked members of the public to come forward with any relevant information by calling 101 and quoting crime reference: CR/088949/15.
