POLICE have developed a piece of equipment to deter the thefts of outboard engines and boat equipment.

PC Steve Speariett said: "We have been working in partnership and developed an outboard engine cover which has the Devon and Cornwall and 'selectadot' logo."

The boat cover is supplied with a container of 'selectadot'- a security marking system printed with a unique serial number and a central property registration telephone number.

Both products can be bought for £25 and order forms can be picked up at the yacht club or from Chris at the tackle shop at Axmouth Harbour.

For more information ring PC Speariett on (01297) 626727.
