Police praise for Sidmouth Carnival organisers

PUBLISHED: 14:45 05 October 2010

ORGANISERS of Sidmouth’s Carnival fun have been praised by the town’ police neighbourhood team leader.

“They did a really good job,” said Sergeant Andy Turner. He added: “For volunteers to put on an event of that scale on their own, they deserve some praise. Around 4,000 came to watch the event, a significant increase on last year.”

He added police took a hard line approach on the evening and there were no associated criminal offences.
