Police praise Sidmouth resident

POLICE have praised a resident who called them at 4am on Saturday morning after hearing a disturbance in Mill Street, Sidmouth. A police dog handler and traffic unit was dispatched. We were given full details of the suspect and vehicle which we checked

POLICE have praised a resident who called them at 4am on Saturday morning after hearing a disturbance in Mill Street, Sidmouth.

A police dog handler and traffic unit was dispatched.

"We were given full details of the suspect and vehicle which we checked out and found it to be a local person and not suspicious," said Sergeant Andy Turner.

"This is just the type of call we want from the public," he said.

His team is investigating a series of local burglaries.
