Police probe Sidmouth Britannia window smash mystery

POLICE raced to Sidmouth’s Britannia building society on Sunday after reports a brick had been lobbed through its window in broad daylight.
Passers-by heard a crash and the High Street branch’s alarm sound at around 1.15pm.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a window smashed and spoke to people in the nearby area. No one was inside the premises.
A force spokesperson said the incident is being treated as criminal damage to a property and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A Britannia spokesperson said damage was caused to a window and police were investigating the matter.
