Sidmouth police have reminded drivers it is against the law to not give their details to another motorist after being involved in a crash on the roads.

It comes after an incident on Sunday where a man refused to give his details to the owner of another car after the wing mirror of his vehicle collided with another on the hill between Sidbury village and Putts Corner.

PC Simon Blyth, from the Sidmouth policing team, said he wanted to remind drivers that they were obliged by law to stop and give their details, including their name, address and who the vehicle’s owner was, after a crash. Failing that, they should report the incident to a police station as soon as possible.
