POLICE are warning Sidmouth residents to be vigilant following a series of attempted email scams across Devon.
Officers have received a number of calls from homeowners who have been sent emails offering tax refunds, from people who say they work for Inland Revenue.
The email asks for details and offers a tax refund. Police are advising anyone who received this email to ignore it as the Inland Revenue do not email clients.
The organisation has confirmed the emails are fraudulent.
