AN assault on Tar Barrels night left a man with a cut to his face and police searching for the group of people who rushed to his aid.
Ottery's neighbourhood policing team are hopeful three people, who came to the assistance of a man who was attacked in Strawberry Lane between 11pm and 11.30pm on November 5, will come forward to shed more light on the incident.
It is believed more than one offender may have been involved in the attack outside the Cricket Club.
Police dished out £80 fines to two young males for public disorder offences on the night and have had a collection of keys and mobile phones handed in to their offices.
The incidents follow a seemingly quiet week where no crimes were reported on Halloween or during Ottery Carnival.
Anybody with information regarding the assault can contact Ottery Police on 08452 777444 and ask for PC 6464 Grimwood.
