RENOWNED performer Ian Bruce went down a storm at Branscombe Village Hall last week.
Over 60 people attended the concert organised by the village hall roof fund committee in conjunction with Villages in Action (VIA) last Thursday.
Ian Bruce, who performs regularly on the folk festival circuit, performed a number of Scottish folk songs to the appreciating audience.
Paul Haines, chairman of the village Hall roof fundraising sub-committee, said: "It was extremely successful.

"The great thing about it was the first course had already been served and the bar had opened before Ian came on stage so everyone was relaxed.
"It was a very happy atmosphere and he was very good. He ad-libbed a lot of narrative and twisted it so it had a Branscombe spin."

The next performance in conjunction with VIA will take place on January 22 at Branscombe Village Hall. The concert features Bridges, a double act who perform Cuban and jazz music.
