PROUD Sidmouth pensioners Harry and Nancy Hewitt have this week been lapping up critical praise lavished upon their playwright granddaughter.
The Convent Road couple have seen the youngest of their seven grandchildren, Lucy Pebble, 28, receive top reviews across the national press for her play, Enron, which has been wowing critics in the Minerva theatre in Chichester.
Lucy's tale of the stricken energy company that went bankrupt in 2001 has bagged a five star review and was hailed an "incredible achievement" by The Times critic Dominic Maxwell, as well as picking up rave reviews in The Telegraph and The Independent to name a few.
Harry, 88, a great-grandfather of five who has lived in Sidmouth for 30 years, said: "She's doing rather well and making a name for herself. We are looking forward to the next time she comes on holiday and stays with us.
"We've always been interested in her, she used to recite poems to us when she was seven or eight and I always thought she'd be an actress.
"We are very proud and didn't expect the critics to go overboard for the play like they have. We haven't actually got any unsuccessful grandchildren.
