Community gathering to discuss proposals that would see town lose inpatient bed unit
Campaigners have called a public meeting tonight (Friday) to discuss hospital bed cuts.
Health representatives, residents and Sid Valley groups will be attending the gathering in Sidmouth Parish Church from 7.30pm, to form a united front against proposals that could see the town lose its inpatient unit.
An invite has been issued to East Devon MP Sir Hugo Swire and the meeting is open to anyone who would like to have their say.
Several community hospital beds in Devon are under threat as the Northern, Eastern and western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) seeks to change to a new model of care’ and plug a predicted £384million deficit by 2020/21.
