STOP, look and listen was just one of the lessons pupils at Newton Poppleford Primary School learnt as part of a police road safety initiative.Sergeant Andy Turner and PCSO Alex Powe visited the school last week to talk to the children about crossing the road, cycling safety and other road safety issues.PCSO Powe said: "We talked about road safety and cycle safety, when it comes to wearing helmets. We had the police car in the playground and asked the children to place cones where they thought they would be safe, to teach them about breaking distances."The children were taken down to the main road to see how a speed gun worked and also had talks about the importance of crossing the road with their parents.
