Pecorama is offering to make every train enthusiast’s dream come true by offering driving courses on its railway.
The Steam Locomotive Driver Experience allows sole access to the footplate on the mile long scenic railway atop Beer cliffs.
The one-on-one courses include expert tuition on the controls, steaming up the locomotive and several hours driving along the narrow-gauge railway line at the family tourist attraction.
John, the chief engineer at the Beer Heights Light Railway, said: “A lot of people have said they would like a try and experience the thrill of driving a train, and we think this is the best possible way of doing it.”
He says most full-size trains which offer a similar experience are much more expensive and don’t give full-access to the controls, and other small-scale railways are a lot shorter than theirs, which he thinks will make the new courses at Pecorama very popular.
