NEWTON Poppleford Rainbows were visited by Sergeant Andy Turner of Sidmouth Police for a lesson in road safety last week.
The 14 youngsters were taught how to cross the road on a 'mock up' street in their playground and they were shown to stop, look and listen.
Sergeant Turner said: "Road safety is particularly important in this village because it is separated by a main road. In the last 12 months a former member of the Rainbows was run over so we are really stressing the importance of road safety and are making sure the kids are up to date.
