LUNCH CLUB: The Salvation Army is holding a lunch club from noon at its Hind Street premises. The group has a coffee morning and friendly get together every Friday from 10am to noon, but this week is offering a two-course, freshly cooked meal for just �4. TAR BARREL REFRESHMENTS: On Monday, during the Tar Barrels event, two churches in Ottery will be open for refreshments. The Salvation Army hall in Hind Street is open from 6pm to 9pm, serving drinks and food. And Ottery’s United Reformed Church will be serving hot drinks and refreshments from 6.30pm from its front porch in Jesu Street.

OTTERY’S GOT TALENT: The annual talent competition in the town returns tomorrow night at the King’s School. A host of local performers will be taking part in the event, which starts at 8pm. Contact Sarah Marshall on 01404 813612.

ALL SOULS SERVICE: Ottery St Mary Parish Church will be holding its All Souls Service on Sunday, at 3pm.

The service is for all those who have lost loved ones to share their sorrow, remember and celebrate their lives. All are welcome whether churchgoers or not.
