ALL shop owners in Sidmouth have been invited to take part in a Remembrance Day window display competition.

Members of the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) want to see a bumper number of businesses decorated with poppies and memorabilia in the year of the organisation’s 90th anniversary. Former RBL branch president Eileen Hodges, a committee member of 53 years, is hoping for a good response.

Windows will be judged on Thursday, November 10.

The winner of the ‘large shops’ category will be awarded the George Hodges Shield. Smaller shops will receive the Silver Cup.

Anyone in need of help or more information can contact Eileen on (01395) 514797, or Sue Pink on (01395) 515495.
