TWO rigs belonging to a Belgian offshore contractor were spotted off Sidmouth on Sunday.

Town councillor Chris Gibbings got this shot of one of the GeoSea-owned rigs, called Goliath, as it made its way west at around 10am. Among its many projects, the firm installs offshore structures such as wind farms.

Deputy manager Bart de Poorter said the rigs were making their way back to Belgium after working for five months in UK waters, installing foundations for Walney wind farm near Barrow-in-Furness.
