Road reopened following collision on Sidmouth road

The A3052 near Wyevale Garden Centre has reopened following a two vehicle collision this afternoon.
All three emergency services were all called out 2pm to the incident, which saw the road closed for a couple of hours.
A woman was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
A police spokeswoman said the road was open at 4.45pm.
Sidmouth Fire Station sent two fire engines to the junction of the A3052 and Woolbrook Road after reports people were trapped in their cars.
On arrival, firefighters confirmed two ambulances were on the scene and began work to release the occupants of the vehicles.
A fire service spokesman said in the crews released a man and two dogs from one car and a woman from the second vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools before leaving the scene in the hands of the police.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at around 2pm to High Street in Sidford, Sidmouth, following a two-vehicle collision.
“A road closure was put into place near to the Bowd pub and Waitrose. An ambulance was called to a female casualty. The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman added: “Two patients were initially trapped in vehicles. One patient complained of chest pain and had minor facial cuts. They were taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment.”
