ROAD Safety Week has prompted the emergency services to issue a stark warning to Sidmouth drivers - 'don't be the next victim'.
Sidmouth Police have taken preventative measures against traffic accidents in the follow up to Road Safety Week, which runs from Monday, November 10 to Sunday, November 16.
Sergeant Andy Turner said: "We have already started taking extra measures to prevent fatalities on the road.
"Last week one of our PCs gave out four fixed penalty fines in an hour to people not wearing a seatbelt.

"We are upping the ante for Road Safety Week.
"People should be warned that officers will be tasked to carry out regular stop checks to make sure road safety regulations are being followed.

"We will issue fixed penalty fines to anyone who does not obey road laws."
South Western Ambulance Service is also supporting Road Safety Week.
A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Service said. "Each year our service, along with police and fire service colleagues, attends thousands of road traffic collisions.
"Many of these end in tragedy, where either someone has been hit by a car or vehicles have collided.
"Too many people die each year on South West roads and it is important that we all play our part in an attempt to cut these numbers considerably."
