THE induction of three new members of Sid Valley Rotary Club has been witnessed by its district governor Jeremy Tucker.
Mr Tucker was full of praise for the club's work in the community when he visited it during its Monday meeting at the Blue Ball Inn, Sidford.
Formed in 2003, it is one of the youngest Rotary clubs in Devon and has quickly become one of its most successful.
Legal secretary Patricia Morgan, Nigel Morris, environmental management and Michael Mertens, IT support and consultancy, were inducted as Rotarians by the club's president John Loveridge.
John then presented Mr Tucker with a cheque for 1,000 - money raised by the club for Rotary International's project to eradicate polio throughout the world - which will be matched by Microsoft giant Bill Gates.
Anyone interested in joining Sid Valley Rotary Club should contact Valerie Chapman (01395) 514774, Alec Dunn (01395) 512540 and Mike Lavers (01395) 516292 after 7pm.
