Rotary president hands over for club’s 75th anniversary

Sidmouth Rotary President David Burgoyne has handed over the reigns over to incoming leader Barry Chapman.

At a ceremony last week Mr Chapman was invested with the chain of office, and says he is already formulating plans for the year ahead when he officially takes over on July 1 as the club gears up to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

Outgoing president David said he looked back over the last year with pleasure and a sense of fulfilment.

“There has been widespread support from all members of the Sidmouth Rotary Club, the Inner Wheel Club, the Sidmouth Herald and the people of Sidmouth for all our community service activities,” he added.

Mr Burgoyne said the club has welcomed new members during the past year and is looking forward to the club’s continuing growth in the coming year.
