The Big Dipper run, held last Sunday, October 16, saw 54 participants attempt the coastal path route, said to be one of the toughest in the UK.

Peter Sutton was first to cross the finish line after two hours and 26 minutes while Elizabeth Dyson came second, arriving two minutes later.

The last person to finish took five hours and 53 minutes.

Steve Skedgell, one of the organisers, said: “I was at the finish so there were lots of relieved and tired people. We are looking forward to next year’s event.”
