The volunteer-run Salcombe Regis Fair returns on Thursday, June 1, with a host of crafts, stalls, games and activities to boost three Sid Valley causes.

Established 45 years ago, the event has since raised nearly £200,000 for a wide range of local charities and this year it will be the turn of the East Devon Parkinson’s Disease Sufferers Support Group, Sidmouth Living with Cancer and the Admiral Nurse Campaign.

At 2pm, the church bell will ring and the bargain fair will open in the centre of the village, in people’s gardens and in the church grounds. Anyone with items to donate can call Mike Newman on 01395 513313.

Crafts on display will include lace making, courtesy of Sidmouth Museum, willow working and wood carving, while the ever-popular flower displays will return to the church.

There will be free transport from Salcombe Regis Recreation Field and, back by popular demand, music from Memory Lane.
