Thousands of pounds have been given to good causes, thanks to the hard work of the Salcombe Regis Fair organisers.

Despite the bad weather, this year’s fair raised a whopping £9,000 - which meant, after paying for the cost of the event, there was £6,500 left to give to the event’s sponsored causes.

A donation of £1,000 was given to Sidmouth Surf Lifesaving Club, £800 was handed to Sidmouth Memory Café (Admiral Nurse), £600 to Sidmouth Hospiscare and £400 was given to the Sidmouth Living with Cancer Support Group.

In addition to this, donations were also made to 1st Sid Valley Scouts, Sidmouth Guides and The East Africa Missionary Society to reward their help on the day.

The remaining balance went to Salcombe Regis Church.

A special thanks was given to Sidmouth Scaffolding and QES.

Cheques were awarded by Mike Newman, this year’s retiring chairman of 20 years, and the Reverend David Caporn of Salcombe Regis Church.
