Sixteen remembered at Salcombe Regis Remembrance Day service
ONLY the sighing of the wind through the trees broke the silence of remembrance at Salcombe Regis where the congregation, joined by friends and neighbours, attended a short service around the war memorial conducted by the vicar, the Reverend Roger Trumper, writes Kingsley Squire.
Councillor Ian McKenzie-Edwards laid a wreath on behalf of the town council and, one by one, read out the names of the Fallen from the parish, seven in the Great War, nine in the Second World War.
