SHELTER TORCHED: Police are investigating an act of arson after �2,000 of damage was inflicted on a wooden shelter at a property in Salcombe Regis. Firefighters tackled the blaze, which started between 9.45am and 10.15am, last Friday. They told police the blaze that destroyed the 30ft by 12ft shelter was started deliberately. A force spokesperson said investigations are continuing and appealed for information. Contact police on 101, crime reference: KS/12/249.
BIKE STOLEN: A bicycle worth �200 was stolen after its owner left it leaning against a house in Manstone Avenue, Sidmouth, last week. The grey Carrera mountain bike was taken between 6pm last Thursday, May 10, and 9am last Friday, May 11. Witnesses or anyone with information on the bike’s whereabouts has been urged to contact police on 101, crime reference: KS/12/251.

HOPPER BUS: The summer Sidmouth Hopper Bus shuttle service will start on May 30. The bus will no longer call at Knowle car park at weekends. Time saved as a result will allow the bus to call at The Donkey Sanctuary seven times a day instead offour, said co-ordinator John Dyson.

MUSIC: Stowford Community Centre is hosting a series of vocal workouts, starting on Wednesday, May 30. The Wren Music Vocal Tasters cost �7 per session, and �5 for concessions, with attendees able to learn traditional folk, world and roots songs. No auditions and no need to read music needed.
