BEER Scout Group had a “sizzling” time during Regatta Week. The youngsters, with leaders and parents, sold hot dogs on the Monday and Wednesday nights, raising upwards of 500 on the second night alone toward group funds.
They were also selling badges to raise funds for Explorer Scout Daniel Knapp, 14, from Seaton, who is off to the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden next year.
“It’s been very busy,” said Daniel, who had been overseeing the sausage cooking most of Wednesday evening.
“We fed all the luggers on Monday night,” said leader Fiona Gage. “But it’s gone much better tonight, we’ve had better weather.”
