Ottery scouts are going green with a new scheme to recycle phones, drink cans and printer cartridges.
The group hopes as word spreads around the local community and businesses it can help provide a community service and prevent items ending up in landfill.
Any money the scouts raise from the recycling project will then go towards the fund to redevelop and improve facilities at their headquarters in Winters Lane.
Hilary Pitcher, who helped set up the scheme, said there is a collection bin in the Ottery Scout Centre, and Martin and Lyn Shaw who run The Pine Store have also agreed to put one in their shop.”
She said the Scout Group hope to announce the location of more collection points in the town over the coming weeks, and if anyone wants to help out they should fundraisinggroup@otteryscouts.org.uk.
