SIDMOUTH'S Scouts will be taking part in the annual St George's Day parade and service in the town.St George's Day holds significance for the organisation, as he is the patron saint of all scouts, displaying the many bold characteristics a Scout should strive for, writes Ettie Shattock.Roughly 350 Scouts from across East Devon are due to meet on Sunday, April 20, in the Manor Road car park at 2.15pm. Honiton Town Band will lead the parade down to the seafront and into town to the parish church. Here a service is to be held in which all Scouts will reaffirm their promise in the presence of district and town councillors. The parade will then return along the sea front to the car park.
